A good deed today...

Friday, December 28, 2012

I spent my afternoon driving around this elderly gent that I am friends with. He wanted to go visit a friend in a nursing home a couple of town north of where we live. I dropped him off, went and filled the gas tank of my dad's truck, and stopped for a cup of coffee and 2 timbits. It must be a sign of how my taste buds are adjusting that the donut holes didn't taste nearly as good as I remember. And I only drank half the coffee. What's up with that?! Then I went back and sat in the lobby until he was through. Took him home and stopped just long enough to trim his cat's claws for him.

So, even though Cooper went and spent the afternoon snuggled with my dad we still walked 6.7 miles. I also pedaled 11.8 miles in the basement exercise room this morning. I also kept up with my jumping jacks, although I only did 220 today. I did them in sets of 55 today.

I also went to the grocery store, and went and bought a new pair of workout pants as I only have one pair that really fits... the others are TOO BIG!! Yay! I didn't make it back to the gym this week, but it is on my agenda for next week. Just not Monday or Tuesday. lol!

On tomorrow's agenda I have the Farmer's Market, lunch with my parents, snowshoeing with my dad, and of course walking the dog. I have never been snowshoeing before, so this should be entertaining. We will see how many times I face plant in the snow! emoticon

I tried snowshoeing as a kid up North, but only once. We hardly ever see snow to warrant that here in my part of Kansas. Tell us what you think of it. I will be curious to find out! I am looking forward to sledding this winter with grandson. We DO get enough for that now and then. Have fun!

    Snowshoeing sounds fun!

That was nice of you to bring that older man around to where he needed to go!

You are one of the most caring people I know. You are wonderful to do all that.

I have also notice that many of my "old favorites" just don't do it for me any more.

It always gives you a good feeling inside when you are able to help someone out. Glad you had fun and still found time to exercise. Good luck in the snowshoeing department, I've never been either.

We still haven;t tried out the snowshoes we bought last year. Maybe this weekend. I think we finally have enough snow in the back yard to at least give it a try.

What a nice thing to do for your friend. Little things like that mean alot to people when they can't do it themselves..

My goodness, you are a busy little exercising beaver, aren't you? I can't compete in any way shape or form. How do you do it, woman? I am exhausted reading about all that working out. I do about 7 miles on the bike every other day as I can't sit much longer than that. I sure wish I could have a normal butt so I can do more, but it seems normal isn't on my radar at all or ever.

But i am so glad someone is more addicted to exercise than I am! I just hope to start evicting fat cells again very soon. I have backed off the goodies as we ate them all, not by sheer willpower, much ot my shame.

And I do love you and Cooper and your escapades! I also love that he gets a sitter when you are not available! I come home and get the happy tail dancing and the "why did you leave me with these losers?" face. LOL!

Have fun snowshoeing. I have been chatting up an ex and he lives in Alaska and tells me that it is not an easy thing to do, so he suggests you move slowly in the beginning! HAHA
