The spine of the January 2013 Reader's Digest reads "2013 The Year of Optimism". I sure hope so! I am NOT going to be sorry to see 2012 fade away.
I live in SW Missouri, and so have joined the Springfield, MO team. One of our recent threads asked about 2013 goals and so I thought about what I wanted to do in 2013...here is the gist of it.
1. I want to return to goal weight. I have been lax the past couple of months, and have several excuses. I need to return to what I know works for me. Walking is my best exercise, even if it must be made in 10 minute intervals. Logging ALL food, not just being general works best for me, as well. I also do better if I am actively involved in a challenge, and I have taken steps to be involved in one shortly. I am not going to beat myself up for the past couple of months. It was a time of introspection, and was necessary for me on several levels.
2. I am going to continue with my "use up/repurpose" with "help someone out" mentality. For instance, I completed potholders for my DS today that used material from curtains I had made earlier in the month. I used leftover fabric materials for something that will please my DS. It's okay if the someone that I help out is myself, too. [There are also those quilt kits that I have mentioned more than once before.
3. I will eat more fruits/veggies. I could start this by eating fruit with my breakfast. This wil also help with goal #1.
4. I will encourage my Sparkfriends.
We are in this together, after all!
2013...The Year of Optimism...I really, really like that.
