I have a daughter with Asperger's Syndrome, a form of high functioning autism. She is an absolute delight, as she sees the world quite differently from my other children.
When I went through chemo a few years ago as part of my breast cancer treatment, I lost all of my hair. One evening she came up to me and said, "Mum. If you had broken your leg, we would have been allowed to sign your cast. Can we sign your bald head?"
How could I say no? I found up the photo of my two youngest children signing my head, and I have uploaded it to my SP Page, along with another showing me with my four children around the same time.
Going through cancer treatment was very, very tough, but it was moments like these that help to heal the scars.
