No looking back, only looking forward

I have been doing this Maintain, Don't Gain thing through my work. My goal was to lose at least 10 pounds during the month that this was going on. I meet that goal a few days ago emoticon . So now any other weight I lose is just icing on the cake so to speak. I still have a lot of weight to go but I know I can do it. Lets go 2013, I can't wait to prove to myself that I can do it. I am not usually the type of person to make New Years resolutions. However this year I decided to give it a try. The only one that I plan to make is to not be so hard on myself. Every time I weigh in I have expectations and when I don't see the weight loss I was hoping for I am depressed. I need to be willing to celebrate all the aspects of this journey. I need to celebrate staying on my workout regime, pushing myself, eating right. Instead of focusing on the scale I want to focus on how I feel and how my clothes fit. I know this is harder said than done, but I am going to spend this year learning how to do it.

You are SO right - we need to celebrate the things we DO have control over (like staying on your workout regime and pushing yourself) instead of punishing ourselves for the things we DON'T have control over (like the scale!). If you keep doing the right things the results WILL eventually show up on the scale. Hang in there!
