2012: 516.97 Miles
Almost the end of the year. Looking forward to really getting the new one right. Starting it off on a positive note, hoping for good weather for a Hudson River Walkway walk on New Year's Day. I found out today that if it's sunny out, I can bundle up and hike when it's only 35 degrees out. It's actually quite beautiful out when you get the noontime sun. It was a good way to celebrate getting 3 minutes of daylight back this week. We're not expecting too much snow tomorrow, they say up to 3".
I got my set of hiking maps for the Catskills region for Christmas. I'm really looking forward to putting together a series of day hikes for 2013 up there. I wouldn't mind living up in that area if I could get a permanent job somewhere that would allow me to look further up the line. Anyway, right now that isn't even on the 5 year plan. Right now the 5 year plan is to focus on getting things in the city settled. I know it's better for my health to leave, but it's just a job and I can focus on the outdoor outside of work and not pour energy into what I cannot change at the moment. Now I focus positive energy into what is in motion, not waste negative energy into what is currently immobile. Make sense? Why yes, yes it does!
Good things in motion. A big part of the secret is the choices we make every day. Where do we put our daily energy? Where should it go? Consistently give yourself credit for the positive. Make a very purposeful effort every day.
