I got through the First Day!

Friday, December 28, 2012

I am trying to get an early start on the new year. Yesterday I started using the food tracker again and, in spite of pain in my hip which has slowed down my exercise for several months, I managed to get in 32 minutes on the treadmill by breaking it down into smaller sessions. I need to work a little harder on controlling the calories but I did manage to come in under my goal for the day. I still have a few Christmas treats left to contend with but I see my DH eating cookies and he doesn't have a weight problem so better that he is eating them than if I get into them. My favorite exercise is Wii Walk It Out but until I get rid of another 15 to 20 pounds I will have to limit that since it seems to aggravate the hip discomfort.

Using the food tracker again is a good start in the right direction. Don't forget to also read the reports this can help also. Because of your pain, easy does it on the exercise, so 10 minutes here and there is good. emoticon

Good Job! Little by little, you will get there. I have heard and believe it is 80% nutrition, so while exercise is good for many things, be careful and don't push it until you are ready. But controlling what we eat, that is more doable since most of us are not being force fed emoticon

Thanks for sharing!

The important thing is you have your goals set and are not waiting for a future time to start working on them! I'll be glad when all my goodies (esp. the fudge) disappear, but I just don't have the heart to throw out that yummy chocolate!

Day ones are tough, but hat's why you keep going, so there's only one of them!

Well, I've lost two comments that wouldn't post; who knows where they will turn up!

Congratulations Ru on re-commiting to a healthy lifestyle. YOU CAN DO THIS! Kudos for getting a running start on the new year! emoticon
