I know when you begin to make life changes such as changes to diet or activity levels it seems overwhelming... sometimes the changes are hard! But KEEP GOING!!!! I am even more firm in my belief to keep going...
I learned something this week.
I am on vacation right now at my parent's house... a place filled with past bad habits and overeating. I haven't been tracking my food. I decided to just let myself use the habits and techniques I've implemented over the past year.
I've been attending parties, eating at restaurants, etc. I looked back on my progress today and realized that I have been doing GREAT! I have been practicing moderation, haven't gone back for seconds (or thirds), and am eating fruits and veggies to fill my stomach.... oh and I chose healthy meals when out.
That's all great... but the best thing is that it's not work, I don't feel deprived. No, I feel great instead of so full I feel sick.
So I urge you, stick to it! There is a light at the end of the tunnel. It's not about going BACK to gorging when you reach your goals, it's about realizing that overeating or eating the heavier foods isn't what makes you feel content or happy. Making NEW habits, NEW habits that you enjoy that don't relate to food... those are what you should be looking forward to!
