The answer to "Does Running Late Count As Exercise" is YES. At least when that person "running late" is your snow removal guy and you get home to find you can't get into your driveway. Two hours of shoveling heavy wet snow burned a little over 800 calories according to Spark People's fitness tracker. Since I hadn't made it to the gym yet today, I suppose I should send the snow removal guy a "thank you" card especially if that ends up leading to weight loss.
Problem #1 for the snow removal guy ... girl on a diet + new years resolution may = cancelling this years hired help.
Did I enjoy shoveling...Truth = Not really
Did I like anything about it = Yes, I like the calorie burn and spending time outside with the dog; especially when I would otherwise be couch bound.
So I suppose I should send a little note to my continuously unreliable snow removal help for giving me the motivation to get it done myself by forcing me into burning unexpected calories and getting one step farther away from going off of the "fat cliff". The plan is to reduce calories, increase exercise and start the new year off with a balanced diet.
