2013 GOALS

CONTINUE MY WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY – To date I’ve lost over 20 pounds this year. I’m happy with that number considering at the beginning of the year I hadn’t set a goal. I’m not one to set number goals for the year because I always get disappointed if I don’t reach them.
However, for the upcoming year I’m just going to say I want to continue to lose the weight. I’m not going to lie, losing another 20 pounds in the upcoming year would be awesome. I would be that much closer to my overall goal of 140 pounds. I’m going to take it one day at a time and not get discouraged if life gets in the way and I fall off the wagon for a period of time. The important thing is to pick myself up, dust myself off, and keep going and not dwell over what I did or didn’t do.

BABY – I started this journey with a RE in June of this year. Due to stress the last few months it has been put on the back burner. Once we get moved and situated I need to get back in to see her and have an HSG procedure done. Then with the continuation of the drugs I’m on and an added fertility drug I’m hoping to be pregnant by the end of the year. I’m going to do everything my RE tells me to do and I’m going to not stress over it. I know when the time is right, it’ll happen. The more stressed I am the harder its going to be to make this a reality.

JOB – I’ve applied for around 7 jobs before Christmas. I didn’t get hired on with Disney and I haven’t heard back from one of the other jobs I interviewed for. I’m going to continue looking for a job in the hospitality industry (what my degrees are in). If nothing comes up between now and June then I’ll reapply to Disney World. My dream is to be a cast member. No, its not big amounts of money but that doesn’t matter to me. I want to be able to make this dream a reality.

    Goal setting is so vital to success and I like that yours are specific. I read a blog the other day and the young lady sets her weight loss goals in 4 month increments. I thought that was a great idea. Often times setting a yearly goal can be too overwhelming because the number is too large and it gives us the time and space to make bad choices with the thought of "I have plenty of time to get back on track." So making a goal of losing 5 lbs by the end of April sounds sooo doable and you may even find that you greatly surpass that because it was a number that was attainable.

    As for the baby, I would focus on taking care of your body, being intimate with your partner in a deeper, more emotional way, and relaxing. It all sounds easy enough until you try it. I was also told once that too much sex lowers the man's sperm count. When trying for a baby, you should only have sex every 2-3 days. It seems to be true enough but I am no sperm specialist (I can't believe I just said that! emoticon )

    I hope your dream job lands in your lap. It isn't about the paycheck but about how good you feel when you go home.
