Someone give me a hand to get back on this wagon!

Thursday, December 27, 2012

I'm struggling getting my act back together after relaxing (greatly) over the holidays.

Too much over-indulgence for too many days has put me WAY above my comfort zone. I recommitted today, then my mom brought me a birthday cake! Ack!

I had a very small piece, but I commit to working out tonight no matter what!

I agree with Willowbrooks - and that is what I have been doing - sending the goodies somewhere else. It hasn't been easy- but is getting easier the more I determine ahead and commit to doing this. I really had to face that if they are in my home, they are going into my mouth. Do I really want that? No. So out they go.

Lots of us are struggling to get back on track. The good news is we aren't just giving up and giving in to all the continued temptations and typical excuses you hear around this time of year.

I agree about either freezing the cake or finding a good home for it. I don't let that stuff stay in my house but instead quietly rehome the goodies if they are something special like your mom's cake or even toss them out if they are normal, everyday temptations. I don't like to throw food away, but we are worth more than any food. We can still sincerely thank the givers for thinking of us. They don't need to know we didn't eat their food. Good luck!

You did really well with the BD cake. A little piece is not going to hurt you. And, I'll bet you did work out, as well. Good for you! Be good to yourself and you will be just fine. It isn't easy getting back on track, I'm having a hard time myself. I, actually, would just like to throw in the towel. But, I'm not going to because the 'alternative' is just too horrible to consider. Besides, I am worth it ~ and so are you. emoticon Have an awesome New Year. emoticon

Sounds like you did great with the cake.

Yes, you can do this!! It isn't always easy but it is definitely worth it.

I shared it at work. It's a store-bought cake, so not worth freezing to me. If there is any left tomorrow, I'll take the rest home for my son. If he doesn't want it, it's going in the trash. =)

You can do it, but having the cake around sounds dangerous. Can you share it with friends? Freeze it? Just thinking.... You are aware and that is a good start.
