I know I have been absent for a long time. I think we go through phases in life and we have to shift our focus depending on the phase.
I am also a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. Certain pieces may fall away or shift or come together at different times.
Let me start by saying I completely fell off the wagon over the past month. Between physical therapy 3X a week, work, the holidays, what have youÖ my pants arenít fitting and I feel like a fat person. But my headaches are improving from the PT and my SELF, my brain, seems to be getting into a much better place. I think I am about ready to jump back into healthy eating and exercise again.
Lots of big changes are happening in my life. If you didnít see my status today Ė I found a new job! I have been with the same company since college so it is a bit of a scary but really exciting change. The new company has a 24/7 gym, is located in the country instead of the city (no more awful metro rides!), and seems like a very good opportunity. NOW is the time for me to really raise my game all around.
I canít believe the holidays have come and gone. I got a bunch of new kitchen gadgets, the new Hungry Girl cookbook, and a fitbit. Iím feeling good about using these tools and some of my old tricks to get back in the swing of healthy living. It is a time of fresh starts Ė new year, new job, new me. Whew!
Iíve been spending a lot of time getting back into my old hobbies, such a crafts, but I really need to get back into exercise again too. My PT is going well enough that they said I can start doing upper body muscle work again. I canít wait to see what my new corporate gym offers, and Iím SO glad it is open 24/7 so I can go on my own schedule. What better time to establish good habits again? I feel lucky!
My boyfriend and I are in the process of working up a new good food plan. Part of the problem before is that I was the only one with a plan, so he was always ďderailingĒ me with his food. He approached me this time about eating better and weíre trying to come up with something that will work for both of us most of the time (since we know nothing ever works 100% for everyone, right?!)
Iím trying to find a good balance in life. Iím hoping this new job, gym, commute and everything will help with that. My boyfriend got me a DSLR camera for Christmas and Iím excited to try my hand at photography. Heck I just think Iím excited for everything overall these days!
Soooo more to come soon on all of this. I hope you all had a fabulous holiday and Iíll be back more often soon!
