I don't really believe in New Year's resolutions, but ...

... here are "9 Healthy New Year's Resolutions". I prefer to simply set goals. And, that can be done at any time throughout the year. If I have a goal I want to accomplish, I don't wish to wait until January 1 to begin.

Nonetheless, the beginning of a new years seems to be a time that motivates many people to set goals, or, resolutions. And, that's not a bad thing, if it is a goal that you wish to work on and try to accomplish, and, not just the cliched New Year's Resolutions, that get chucked to the side of the road before February.

"9 Healthy New Year's Resolutions"

Here's a summary of 9 weight loss goals:
1. Control your portions.
2. Be active.
3. Slash soduim consumption.
4. Increase anti-oxidants.
5. Quit smoking already.
6. Floss your teeth.
7. Wear sunscreen ... all year.
8. Strength train.
9. Expect good things from yourself.

Confessions -- I rarely even wear sunscreen in summer, let alone all year. And, I don't expect to start. I really tend to be more of an inside person, and, in summer, I stay om the shade whenever possible, in summer, because I don't like the Kansas heat. Also, I don't tend to be concerned about sodium so much, because I've never had high blood pressure. It tends to run in the low range of normal. And, I don't smoke, so I don't have to quit. I probably do most other things.

I'm going to try to walk everyday even if it's only five days and keep a journal. I never ever made goals but this is something I seriously want to do.
