Winter Runningland

So, I'll admit it. I ate like trash again yesterday. Oh well! I'm back to tracking calories again today and I'm not touching a single Christmas cookie for the rest of the year. Well, maybe one. A day. But, no more of that "OH! I'll eat 5 cookies for breakfast. If it's my whole meal, it can't be that bad! Why am I hungry two hours later? Oh, yeah. Nothing especially filling about cookies..." mentality. RAMBLE!

Anyway, I went to my dad's after work to exchange gifts and ate 6000 pieces of candy (okay, more like 6 but still, WTF?! Gross) and when I was headed home, I was racking my brain, "Mmm! What fast food should I pick up? I already ate like crap today and the weather is trash. I should eat fast food!" But, none of it sounded truly yummy and when I was honest with myself, I wasn't hungry so, I opted to go for a run in the fresh snow.

It ended up being an awesome idea. It was a lot of fun, added a different challenge, and the people in my neighborhood were crazy nice.

When I was warming up, some woman asked if I needed a ride, some guy that wanders around trying to save a local HS from being demolished wished me a happy new year, and when I stopped on my cool down to compliment some lady on the awesome job she did hand-shoveling her entire driveway and front walk, she thanked me and proceeded to explain that she didn't want the legally blind woman that walks around the neighborhood to fall and hurt herself.

So basically, I made a good choice for my diet, fitness, and mental well-being. Go me! Wee! Snowstorm running. Crazysauce! (I'm wired on coffee today... bahahah!)

Winter Runningland sounds like a very nice and peaceful place!

SYDLETZIII is right, don't beat yourself up about the past, just try to soldier on in a postive way. I also reccomend tracking every cookie and candy just so you have an accurate idea of what you're working with. Maybe it won't be as bad as you thought...

And if you ran long enough you worked off the calories from the candy. Next time offer to share each piece cut it in half and give the other half to someone who you care about, then you have tasted six pieces but only ate three. Best wishes for your diet in 2013
