I finally took a good look at how I am managing my food these days and it is helter skelter. No wonder the scale is up 2 lbs. When I eat far too many ridiculously high cal foods it tends to do that to me. Moderation is not an easy skill for me. Some tends to lead to more and then all bets are off. I am envious of Charlie who is able to take just a little and call a halt. But he still needs to lose a few pounds too. So yesterday when we were watching a movie I set down what I could live on and then I entered it in my nutrition pg. and saw the number of calories it would entail and it was good. It starts with a little quesadilla for breakfast, refried beans, and a lot of veggies for lunch and fruit, yogurt and my all time favorite of cabbage salad as well. These are all foods that are tried and true, rate high in nutrition and I don't go crazy with them as they only contain natural sugars. It requires regular work and I will change some of these things up as I go along but the reward should be well worth it. If nothing else I will feel better. No more flair up of piles. So I am off to a good start and I will not get waylaid. Too bad if friends wonder why I bring a green salad and beans. A lot of them battle their weight as well. I will keep reminding myself of the fact that sugar is cut glass to my blood vessels which are smooth like M and Ms. That picture is very vivid in my brain.
Only 4 days to go with the meds for our very sick dog and then by mid Jan. more blood tests to see how she is doing. I will pick up more liver for her as well and cook it for her anemia.
Aqua fit is cancelled because the instructor has twisted her ankle so I will concentrate more on exercises at home, walking and spanish. Life is GOOD.
