Christmas, grandchildren, and other thoughts!

The last few weeks have been just this shy of insane with all the preparations for the Christmas celebration, travel, and wrapping up small details for the end of the year.
First on the list is my gratitude check:
I am so very blessed to have a sister who understands me, a roommate that is honest and trustworthy, and a daughter who helps me step outside my personal boundaries when I need it the most. I am also grateful for my lovely grand-twins who think Grandma Kacey is pretty alright. Another asset is that, despite the problems I have with my body, I am still able to get around well enough to keep my 5-and-a-half-year-old angels engaged when I come to visit.
Things I need to work on:
I must get fully back in the swing of taking care of myself with my diet and health. It is so easy to slip up when not in familiar situations and not having my go-to snack choices around me. I also have to remember that by accommodating (read pleasing) others, I do not have to compromise my food choices and health in the process. It is okay for me to say "no" to people who made something especially for me...I just have to do it.
I also have to make sure not to use my pain as an excuse not to move. I have observed myself trying to do that lately and I am not happy about it. Especially since I know I will feel better after the fact. I have to put myself back on the priority list I some seem to have slipped off.
Hmmmm. Sounds like a fresh start is in order!
