Pass it on...

Wednesday, December 26, 2012

I've been a little more active reading other people's blogs and what not, trying to figure out what will motivate me. I signed up for a half marathon. A HALF MARATHON. I go through phases of loving running and hating it. I hate running until I am on my treadmill. I hate the treadmill. What I wouldn't give to have the confidence to run outside. In the fresh air. With something pretty to look at. But with all those people? Those people that have no respect for someone who is trying to make it right with their own body.

So in my blog hops around the site, I saw someone post this and saw how much it has been passed around. If you have a few minutes, hop on over and read this...

When I started running in my teens I was overweight. Run outside and enjoy the scenery, you have a wonderful personality and in today's world that counts. Don't let small people with small minds keep you from doing what you love.

I think you will discover that most others will respect ANYONE who is genuinely trying to make it right with their own bodies. I have always found that I have been treated with great respect at the gym ESPECIALLY when my obesity made it look like I probably SHOULD or COULD NOT do the exercises because I was FAT. People respect the effort it takes to make things right even when you have a long way to travel to get to where they are.
