We had a lovely Christmas. Christmas Eve was the big dinner I hosted and everything went fine and was fun and relaxed and everyone said I did a great job! It felt good! Christmas Day was nice and relaxed and I never left the house :)
The only downside is for some reason I just didn't stop eating! I won't list all the stuff here as it may trigger cravings in others, but almost every time I ate I wasn't even hungry and it was a lot of food. I felt that huge swollen belly uncomfortable feeling. It felt gross and I was really disappointed in myself. But I made the decision to work on exerting control today and eat in moderation AND to get some form of exercise in while the kids are napping.
For the most part today has gone as planned. I had a green smoothie for breakfast, my vitamins, coffee and lots of water. That should help get nutrients in and flush the junk out. Okay, the coffee was just because I was tired LOL. Though it does help with the flushing I suppose. Anyway...At lunch I snacked a bit on some crackers and ham and a couple bites mac n cheese while making the kids lunch - that was not planned. I had made a small dessert size plate of some ham and some green bean casserole for my lunch and decided I definitely would not eat it until after I worked out since I had snacked.
I put the kids down for nap, changed into workout gear and did Zumba on the wii. Yay! I did 45 minutes and put some energy into it and got 96% accuracy and burned over 700 calories though on here it said 511 - either way I'll take it. Then I stretched and by then I was feeling good - that energized feeling along with the warmed up and recently stretched muscles...aaahhh... So then I ate my ham and green beans. But then...I snacked again. Why? had a small piece (like 2 bites) of a 7 layer cookie bar and a piece of cheese coffee cake. Ugh. Why?
Oh well, moving on. I did track it too. I won't be in range for probably another week or so but I'm getting back into my tracking habit and becoming more aware of what I'm eating and amounts, etc. Then I need to plan some healthy meals and really buckle down! :) Also I'm focusing on getting back into a workout routine, so that's good.
At least today is more in control than yesterday and the day before. I boxed up and gave away a lot of goodies too to get them out of the house and I'm going to start throwing stuff away. I will not eat all of it just to get rid of it. I am still eating a some out of a mixture of frugality and pleasure, but there has to be a limit, a line where it's better to throw it in the garbage than put it in me. One or two days of leftovers is good. Plus food safety-wise you can't keep this stuff forever and we have LOTS of leftovers! We could eat off of it for a week or more. Plus as good as it is, I'm going to get hammed out! :)
Overall this holiday season has been great, but I'm so ready for it to be over. 2012 was a great year as well. I grew and matured a lot (while shrinking my body a bit! lol) so I am pretty excited to see what 2013 holds. More body shrinking for sure LOL. More learning, more giving and receiving love. New friendships. New challenges met and overcome. More confidence and strength. And continued improved health. Bring it on! :)
Hope everyone's December was fabulous. Here's to the new year and all of the joys that come with it!

Cheers!
