BLC - To stay or not to stay

I haven't done crap this week when it comes to the BLC team I'm part of.

I haven't even exercised.

Shoot, I even forgot that I had to do anything with it.

I don't even feel like weighing in because I now know that the weight I had down last week was completely wrong. I used an old scale and it was way off (even though it was on zero). So I hadn't lost any weight last week. So if I weigh in this week, it will look like I GAINED weight. Which, I probably have anyway since I was lazy and didn't get off my butt.

I just have no motivation right now guys. At least where the team is concerned. I was hoping that joining and being part of it would help motivate me but it seems like it's done just the opposite.

So not fair. Ugh. Any suggestions guys? I need heeeeelp!

    I agree with everyone who posted that you should not give up , but should stay in the challenge. Success builds on success. That means start your exercise streak today and that is your foundation success to build on. The next day you will be more motivated to continue the streak because you know it is good for you. We all want to be healthy and safeguard our health.

Until you can do it for yourself, do it for God or someone you love. I started out doing it for my husband who was concerned about my health and heart health. NOw I am doing it fo rme and him and God.

We can do this together with the lemon team. We are winners.

    I would encourage you to stay.
I am the leader of the Sapphire team. We have 24 team members. Only 21 of them reported on time this week. 19 of them gained weight. Some quite a bit of it.

We move on. The team does NOT expect you to be perfect! That isn't the point of the challenge at all. The point of the challenge is knowing you have a very strong, supportive group of people that are struggling with decisions and choices and slips- just like you are. The point is knowing that having a bad day or week does not have to mean you have a bad month.

I would encourage you to stay. And keep trying. And trying.
I tell my members at the end of 10 weeks- if, at that point, they feel being in the challenge has not benefited them in any way- they should leave then.

Give your team a chance. You will find you are among very good (and supportive) company.

    You should stay for many reasons, but the main reason is this is for YOU!!! I am one of the co-leaders for the team and I have not exercised at all during this challenge! That is not a reason to give up on YOU!! This is a really bad, but joyful time of year. We all fall off the wagon, yet what you have being apart of the LEMON team, is 100% support!

Don't give up just yet. Lets get through this weekend and come up with a plan that fits you. I will be more than happy to help you, as I have to do the same thing! Hang with us, you will see the difference in everything once we get past the holidays.. ok??

    You are not alone dear. You have millions of SP members around you. Just think about someone that has really motivated you and you will be fine. If you can't find the person then find all successful spark people's story. If 300 lb lady can do it. If 170 lb person (me) can do it then sure you can do it too. emoticon emoticon

    I happen to come across your blog and not knowing you, I went to your home page and read about you. The first and very important thing I want to tell you is to every day read the description you wrote about yourself. Those are all positive and motivating!!!
We have all been there at one time or another, so you are not alone. Might sound funny, but sometimes we can develop an all or nothing attitude. When this has happened, I just take a one week break from everything and reframe and center myself. Redo your vision board to refresh!Go back in ready to attack, but not all at once.
Focus on one specific challenge or team, make the commitment to yourself and put on a smile knowing you ARE going to do this.
Just keep a strong mind and keep coming back. You know you are worth it. And yes, we are all here to help each other. I do wish you happiness and good luck with this journey and hope that you can do this for yourself. Have some confidence...

    Talk to your leader, mistakes happen. It is still early in the challenge. I was thinking today, there is going to be a lot of gains posted this week. The holidays are tough on everyone. Let's just move forward in a positive direction. You will be so happy New Year's Day that you didn't put off working towards a healthier YOU.

    Even when you don't feel like it, you need to stay. I have not felt like a good team player for a long time but I know without this team, I would have fallen far far away from the wagon. It gives me that little bit of inspiration and hope to keep trying. The team members are so encouraging even when I have not done my best. This was certainly not a good week for me either due to the holidays but it is in the past. Time to start anew and make 2013 a great year. You are part of a great team! Hang in there! emoticon

    Sweetie.. stay.. Motivation.. well.. what is the point? I do not say that sarcastically.. I felt the same wy last challenge. It was so hard to get back on track. Somehwere along the line I did lose my motivation. Then I reminded myself about why I was doing this.. MY HEALTH.. I wanted to see my grandbabies and travel and grow old with my dh..
Sweetie, what is your incentive? Dont worry about us.. we are worried about you... we care and are here to urge you on.. we are in this together! (((hug))) We all fall and fail.. it is what we do with it.. Just dust your feet off and start all over again. You CAN do this , we know you can!
Exercise - do it .. start with 10 minutes a day.. Walk stairs quickly , find what works for you and tell us , we will cheer.
Food- what do you need a ush in, fiber, veggies? tell us we will encourage and nudge

Water.. drink it.. :-)

    We want you to stay part of the BLC! Confession time. I GAINED eight pounds this week. How does THAT even happen??? I recorded it on the weigh in and I'm moving on. Tomorrow starts a new day. You are here because you want to make changes-- to become healthier. This past week was a time fart. Seriously. With so much to do and so many distractions, (and of course temptations) it has been hard for me to make the right choices. Today I started an exercise streak. (yes, a one day exercise streak. Tomorrow it will be two. ). Will you join me? SunPanther is right. We just have to form the habits so they become second nature. Take the challenge one day at a time and come check in each day.

    Don't confusion motivation, for 'feeling motivated'. Your motivation is your health - 'feeling motivated' is a little monster that comes and goes whenever it feels like it. You learn to keep going whether you FEEL motivated or not! This is the absolute key to being consistant.

Sigh. Let it go. Surrender to the fact that no-one can do this for you. Choose what it is you want. Stop the war inside you. Resign yourself to the fact you are going to have to do things that cause discomfort. Then take yourself out the door and walk. Or steam those yukky veggies. Whatever. Face that discomfort down!

But keep coming back to the LEMONS!!

    I was having the same problem last challenge. I am just going to do the best I can and go from there. The best advice I can give you and myself is just do it. Quit thinking about how much you need to get healthier and do something about it. That is more for me than for you. Sometimes you have to kick your own butt to get it in gear. :)

    I understand where you're coming from. My mindset has started to change when thinking about motivation and willpower. While I believe they are vital and sometimes the only thing that keeps us going-- I think habit is a much bigger obstacle to overcome. If we get down on ourselves then make the choice to not do something, we are just reinforcing the same habitual behavior. I haven't even began to tackle that beast, but it's my goal for 2013.

    Motivation is a strange have to feed it, nurture it and allow it to move you. As Maggievan commented it first starts in our mind. Wayne Dyer wrote a book with the title "When you believe it, you will see it". So maybe you can start by believing that you do have can take a small step today and another one tomorrow. Please don't leave the Lemon team we are here to encourage and support one another. I too did not exercise much last week but I also know that it will be easier to stay on track in the days ahead because all my team mates are trying to stay on course too. Together we can do this. YOU are worth it. emoticon

    Oh, it's not that I think I CAN'T do it. I know that I can because I've done it before. It's having the MOTIVATION to do it that is my problem. No where did I say that I can't do it. -.-;

    In past years, I found that with just the running around to get ready for Christmas I had not gained as much as I thought. However this year I, like you, have more apprehension about the scale. Tomorrow I will try.. first thing in the morning. emoticon
