Holiday eating

Wednesday, December 26, 2012

Merry Day-After-Christmas, everyone!

My holiday eating was ok-ish at the party, and rather terrible at Christmas Eve with The In-Laws-To-Be (although a lovely night) and at my mom's house.

Back on the wagon. I have nothing to distract me until NYE.

My favorite gifts were a loaf pan from The Boy and His Girl, and a 1-cup measuring cup from The Girl. I learned that our house is too cold to successfully bake sourdough bread -- it was tasty but dense as it didn't rise properly. I dropped the loaves by anyway, with promises that I'll bake for them when it gets warmer!

The Boy helped me make a cake to take to TILTB's house on Christmas Eve -- it was fun!

Christmas at Mom's was lonely as The Girl wasn't there, and we all missed my dad. I cleaned out his main closet, as it was upsetting my mom to open up their closet and see his stuff -- she kept expecting him to come back. I brought the coats and warm sweaters to the local Armory, as we have a nighttime shelter there -- Dad would be happy.

How was your Christmas holiday? Were you more successful than I?

We had our "big" dinner on the 23rd, my Brothers Bday and we were going to call it done. But then I opened my big mouth and begged for a real Christmas dinner. I did pretty good on the eating except when it came to Spinage Dip in a bread bowl. That put me over the top. I'm cooking a turkey with all the trimmings on New Years Day, so it's one more temping meal and I'll be back to normal. I have definately cut back on the calories from now until then.

I've had a few Really Bad Party Episodes in the past week or so.

But the crap hit the ventilator this morning when I was so bloated I couldn't zip up my pants.

So I'm back on 1500-1600 cal per day, and strength training was done tonight.

I refuse to get bigger pants. This is ridiculous.

I am hanging in there. I don't think I'm losing any weight, but I am limiting my sweets to fresh fruit and my portions are small.
I am sorry about your unhappy moments. Even the very best holidays can be filled with stress.

Happy New Year!

I did terrible Christmas Eve with eating and have been staying in calories so far since. My exercise has been higher than usual at least. The first Christmas so close to your dad's passing had to be hard on all of you. That was so nice of you to clean out the closet for your mom during this rough time. Take care!
