I'm just not myself this year's Christmas season. I actually forgot gifts for some people we ALWAYS buy for. What's worse is that it's kids. I usually wouldn't forget stuff like that.
I also waited until the last minute to set up the used ipods I got for my DDs. Unfortunately that meant discovering on Christmas eve night that one of them was passcode locked, which the seller neglected to mention and since I bought it several months ago and, like a fool, didn't check right away, there's nothing I can do. So, DD1 got her ipod (she's wanted it for over a year) and DD2 didn't (I think she mainly wants one because the other 2 did also). We ended up giving her other gifts and will try to get the ipod unlocked and set up for her birthday in March. Thankfully all 3 kids were SUPER grateful for everything they got and they know it's not all about the presents.
Also, I got to my in-laws yesterday with nothing to contribute to the meal. In walks everyone else with food, esp. my BIL & SIL who brought a ton of stuff. I felt like such a free-loader. I dropped the ball on a couple other things, too. I won't dwell on it any further. Point is, I'm off my usual mark. I really enjoy giving to others and helping and being a blessing to those around me (part of why I love Christmas) and I just fell so short of what I would've liked to have done and been.
Ah well, time to move on. I'll find ways to be a blessing to those around me, Lord willing, every day for this year and the next. That's all I can do.
