Big sigh of relief .... Yep, the holiday season has come and gone ... all that remains is to finish the dishes from our family meal and put away what little bit of Christmas decorations I put out. Everything was scaled WAAAAAAAAY back here this year. I usually spend 2 -3 days decorating our house (One year I took down my living room curtains and put up white tulle with twinkles lights draped in them!) but this year it was bare bones as my time schedule was PACKED!

Here's the "tree" ...

The blessing for me in doing this "tree" this year was that it allowed me to see that my oldest son, Tim, appreciates the family tradition of the real tree! I didn't know that!

Here's the same son ... I so enjoyed our time together yesterday!

Here's a picture of the table before the wreckage ...

And some miscellaneous decoration pictures ..

With Christmas behind me, I'm focusing forward ... Working on putting together goals for 2013 and leaving behind the baggage I picked up in 2012. I've picked out my motto for 2013 already ...

Forward ... If you aren't moving forward, you are either standing still or sliding backwards ... I'm ready for forward ...

Have a great day!

Your decorations looked lovely, Eda, and your table as so festive! Your son looked like he was really enjoying himself, too! Also LOVE the writing and the painting on the wall behind him!! You are so talented! We have scaled way back on decorating, too. Even bought a new 4 ft pre-lit artificial tree. I wasn't sure I'd like it, but thought it would "do". It has really grown on me, and looks beautiful. Just decorated the fireplace mantel, and hung a wreath. Simple electric candles in the windows.

I tried to scale back. My husband wanted a bigger tree last year. Sigh. It's ok.....he has so much fun.....that's all that matters and he helps clean up! Glad you had a great holiday.
