good morning. Christmas day has come and gone, and i hope everyone had a really beautiful day. the southern part of the US had some scarey weather--prayers out for those who dealt with that.
right now i am concentrating on following the advice posted by a fellow sparker--bending but not breaking my routine. eating has been out of whack for about a week now--but i fully expected that to happen, and honestly i have to say i haven't been completely "out there" but there have been a lot of foods that normally don't fit in my eating plan. so my strategy consists of the following:
eat veggies and fruit each day. doesn't have to be my ususal amount, but just be sure to get SOMETHING.
drink water--again, maybe not the usual amount, but make the effort to get a couple good sized glasses or bottle down each day.
stick with my exercise routine as usual. track my fitness (i allowed myself 2 days off on the food tracker)
this is not any kind of an "overachievers" set of goals--but it is a set that i can do without a struggle, and it gives me a feeling of success. so i can continue to feel positive and keep any negative emotions out of the equation. i think in times like this i need to give myself a positive mindset, and by achieving these goals i can do that. sometimes the trick with goals is choosing the right ones, and these worked in this case.
the good news is this morning i was really craving fruit. and last night about 8 pm i was hungry (we had a very rich "traditional" Christmas dinner at a friends about 2 pm) and i ate some nonfat cottage cheese instead of the leftover sweets that were lying around. all the sweets are going either to rob's work or the older stuff is going out to the chickens who will turn it into eggs. today is podrunner day, so when the sun comes up i will head to the park to get my time in. lunch with a friend today, but its at a place that has nice healthy food, so that will be easy. and a stop to visit my folks on the way home--and that will be the extent of my running around. the menus for this week will have to limp along on what i have at hand, but i have the ingredients to make a favorite healthy soup, and should be able to get us through until next week.
