Update on the past few days

Wednesday, December 26, 2012

We had a lovely Christmas evening with my MIL, then went to my parents for lunch, my sister + his husband + two kids staying at their house for the holidays.
We had a great time and nice presents : )
Healthy lifestyle-wise I got a cute headlamp and 2 pairs of compression running socks - both will be very useful for winter runs!

My sister's husband came to run with me this morning.
I really wished to show him the forest trail on the hill, as they don't see much snow in Spain so I'm sure he would have liked it.
But the trail is still very icy, so instead we went to the island (Margit-sziget) where all the snow melted already, and the trail was clean. We ran together 6K at 10 min/mile which was comfortable for both of us, so we could chat all the way.
This was the first time I ran together with someone and it was good.

Christmas eating didn't go very well: I ate well and just within my range both on Monday and Tuesday up to end of dinner, but dessert got me...
On one day it was Christmas cookies, the other day chocolate bonbons got me... adding 4-500 extra calories that I definitely didn't need.
We watched the video my husband compiled for us from the many we have from the first 3 years of our kids and it just felt good sitting there with them, munching cookies.
Two days of indulgence will not hurt, if I get back on track now.

Sounds like you had a good time. You know what you need to do to get back on track. Knowing that it is doable helps. Enjoy your day.

In the grand scheme of life, two days at 500 calories over really isn't that significant. It is important to enjoy a treat here and there! I enjoyed some myself :)

So you had an eating lapse. Pick yourself up, get back on track, and it won't be a big deal. It will become a big deal if you let it be a lifestyle instead of a holiday.

You can do this. You've done it before, and you know how to do it again.

Sounded like a nice run - I love to run with other people but seldom get the chance. Great job getting back on track! I has a few cookies myself, and enjoyed it, BUT know its time to get back to business beforevitvtets out of hand!
