12/25/12: New Beginning...

I want to really start this thing. I can't figure out how to get in the mood. Shall I start with diet? Shall I start with exercise? I know that if I start with too many things I will give up because I can't keep it up. I think I should start with being faithful to Oxycise. Oxycise is amazing and it will get me farther along where I want to go and make me healthier than just following a diet where I lose it too many times and give up. Okay I will start with Oxycise beginning Wednesday Dec 26th. I will track it faithfully. Done Deal! One thing and one thing only! Is that so hard? Make it a habit…

Since I see your blogs ebert day, I know you're on sparkpeople every day. May I suggest that you post on the consistency thread on the Breathing For Health team discussion forum?

It really helps me to expect to show others that I met my commitment.

    I'll join the rest, what's Oxycise? Breathing exercises? (I knew someone who said to lose weight, you have to breathe right.) Whatever it is, a plan is good to have so you're halfway there without walking out the door! Go you! Keep it up!

    I'm assuming oxycise is being in the habit of exercising everyday - no excuses.
Good for you. It sounds like the best way to start. Concentrate on one thing for your health before taking on too much. Exercise is the best thing for you. Oh, by the way, I plan on starting January 1, I hope. Just need the motivation!

    Find something that works for you then do it . . . stick with it.

For me, I find that tracking fitness and nutrition
PLUS portion control PLUS staying on plan are the key to success.

    I find that most people start off the easiest with the substitution method then move into planning their diet, and once thats down add in exercise.

Start off with this
If your using 1,2 or whole milk, switch to fat free
switch sugar for splenda
switch eggs for egg whites
water for soda

you get the idea. SUPER SUPEr easy way to start, and it will all help :D

    I like the way FlyLady focuses on one habit per month all year long. It's way easier to focus on just one thing at a time and get it right than to spread yourself too thin.

    Tracking is easy to start as well as making sure to get your water. I don't know what Oxycise is--something new for me to research! Keep on sparking!

    emoticon emoticon I agree with the sparker that says to track everything you eat! It is truly the way to figure out what and how much you are eating because sometimes it is very surprising! Portion control and exercise will get you where you want to go!

    My 5 cents worth would be to begin tracking what you eat and working out. That is an easy way to start. Then as you work at it for a week begin making diet changes! Too many changes can be overwhelming. The tortoise wins the race!!

    Only thing is, it can be really hard to lose weight with just exercise. Diet is a lot qicker and will lead to more lbs lost almost every time. Glenn
