Well, that's that so far as I'm concerned. A day and a bit expunged from my SparkMemory and as of this moment, I'm back on the wagon. Won't be eating anything else today - the mere thought of food makes my stomach feel a bit unruly.

It was nice while it lasted . . . though to be honest, it wasn't quite as nice as I expected, I really can't eat all that much at once any more, not without indigestion. Started feeling a bit like a forcefed goose myself. The 200g bag of bombay mix was definitely a mistake. Must be the SparkInfluence. I'm sure it's not guilt. I clearly haven't got the capacity I had, pre-Spark, for eating a lot of very rich food at once. To say nothing of junk food.

Hope I remember this next time the oppo comes along for untrammelled gluttony. That'll be on new year's eve. Thank goodness I'll be out for the evening. I'll stick to wine.

There's half a Christmas pud in my kitchen, any takers?

I love it! And second that! I'll be skipping any New Year indulgences, water will be my best friend. As for food, I agree. I know I have to keep eating and can't skip meals but my meals as of today have small, normal, and a bit forced. But back on the wagon here also!!!!!

I know the feeling well - I've given myself permission to eat whatever I want during the holidays and then find I really don't want that much (but still occasionally overeat just because it's a special treat...and it's there!) Cheers to getting right back on track!

When you eat healthy most of the time, your habits and tastes change as well as your volume capacity for food storage! That rich food you always had to have now feels heavy and you can't eat all that like you used to.

One thing I've learned is that even when I choose to eat a rich or fattening food, the first bite or two is really the best and after that I am kind of disappointed and just feel guilty for eating the rest of it.

Be safe and have fun on New Years and may 2013 be awesome for you!

How I love the puddings! I have not had a really good trifle since about 1985; I tool my children to England and hoped that they would enjoy the museums and galleries, but all they wanted to do was eat custard at the Happy Chef. What a thrill when we found one that had been dedicated by The Princess Michael!

Bombay mix drills holes in my stomach---but that does not always stop me!

Happy New Year!

Congratulations! I've notice that the longer I eat healthily, the less tolerant my body is of really rich food. That didn't stop me from indulging over my holiday travels, but I'm learning to tune in to what my body is telling me more and more.

So truee! I don't have the capacity for big binges/heavy meals any more either. The message still hasn't got through from my stomach to my brain, though... I definitely didn't need the slice of hazelnut bouche de noel last night... but it tasted delicious. Company tonight for dinner, then a few quiet days until New Years Eve and Day. Back on the treadmill today.

By the way, are you in the flooded part of England? I've seen some pictures of the Taunton area, where we once stayed for almost a week, on tv news. We have a big snow storm coming - somewhere between 15 and 25 cm. of snow and high winds.

Take care, and thanks for your blog.

Absolutely with you, Chantal. I'll bet you didn't even have nearly what you either wanted or thought you wanted, either. I left food on my plate and still felt stuffed. Didn't eat nearly what I thought I wanted, either. What a great moment of clarity! I had a 2 WW point Progresso Chicken Noodle soup last night and was totally satisfied! We can do this...

My problem wasn't a single goose-stuffing. It was work, where the employee lounge was stuffed with fattening foods. I kept finding reasons to drop by the lounge (it's amazing how many reasons one can find), and each time I had to try a small taste of something. Or perhaps two.

Tastes.

Of one or two things.

Thank God January is just around the corner!!!
