Well, that's that so far as I'm concerned. A day and a bit expunged from my SparkMemory and as of this moment, I'm back on the wagon. Won't be eating anything else today - the mere thought of food makes my stomach feel a bit unruly.

It was nice while it lasted . . . though to be honest, it wasn't quite as nice as I expected, I really can't eat all that much at once any more, not without indigestion. Started feeling a bit like a forcefed goose myself. The 200g bag of bombay mix was definitely a mistake. Must be the SparkInfluence. I'm sure it's not guilt. I clearly haven't got the capacity I had, pre-Spark, for eating a lot of very rich food at once. To say nothing of junk food.

Hope I remember this next time the oppo comes along for untrammelled gluttony. That'll be on new year's eve. Thank goodness I'll be out for the evening. I'll stick to wine.

There's half a Christmas pud in my kitchen, any takers?

    I agree,
I look at the size of food plates and panic
My friends are now calling me the nibbler because I just want a spoonful of this and a taste of that....even things I love I reduce the portion to insure that I dont over eat....that is everything but chocolate candy

I think I am more consious of what I eat; and how much I eat because of spark! One day did not ruin all of your hard work!! Hugs!

I've had out of town company so makes for more goodies laying around than we usually have in the house...but I am getting back to healthful eating and feeling much better for it! emoticon

This year is my first Christmas on Spark and even though I haven't really been tracking over the Christmas period (usually I do this daily) I only had a couple of small roasties with my turkey and veg and couldn't face any Christmas pudding. At tea-time could only face 3 crackers with a small portion of cheese and pate. So although I have been indulging I clearly cannot eat like I did pre-Spark. And so far I don't appear to have added any pounds. Bonus. emoticon

Also my OH and I had some white bread for the first time in months with turkey leftovers and we both felt bloated and OH got heartburn. So we'll definitely be back on the ciabattas and bagels which don't seem to do this. Learning to eat better and feel better. emoticon

Didn't get around to making a pudding this year, despite having bought the necessary ingredients on a trip to England in October. Made Delia's squidgy chocolate log though, as I usually do, and there's still a slice left (with son-in-law's name on it). So yes please I'd love some of your Christmas pud!!

Haven't pigged out too much this year, but wine consumption makes up for that... Oh dear!

hmmm.... I am trying to feel the same! But the panforte keeps calling me for just another little slice and the biscuits my daughter baked (shortbread with chocolate in the middle) have to be finished before they go soggy

We've had so much baked goods around it is not funny. Cookies that are at least three - four inches wide. Indulged in some as a snack. Came down with bronchitis 12/14 taking antibiotics and cough syrup ever sense. Knew I was sick when I didn't touch the fresh shrimp platter over Christmas and I love shrimp.

I've found the same thing! I can't physically hold as much as I used to, and it's taken some time to adjust to it. Some PAINFUL time. :) I've had a few buffet/holiday incidents where I ate what I thought was a normal amount of food (for an indulgence, anyway) and ended up in all kinds of pain because I was so stuffed, I couldn't hardly breathe without pain. I'm slowly figuring out the new stomach capacity.

I'm glad you had a nice time of it, though, and enjoy your New Year's wine! :)

I stocked up on goodies that are only available here during the holidays, thinking I'd indulge a little and then package the rest up for the freezer. But I realized last night that I hadn't even opened the packages. So I'll have Christmas type goodies to last me the next six months, maybe.

My stomach has shrunk! I had more shrimp then everything else put together so calories was fine but (always that little but huh?) went way over my chloresterol for the day. Thank heavens Christmas is only once a year. HNY to you and yours!

Kind of reminds me of the three bit "diet". Basically if you really think about it, by the third bite of something (*everything) you've expericence the euphoria you thought the food would bring you and you're past it so you can stop eating it.

I noticed this year that even though I indulged, I can't eat the way I used to. My body is getting used to nutritious eating and when I swap out bad for good, I can feel it saying, "What in the world is that?" Amazing how well the body knows what it needs and learns to expect it! Keep up your awesome and inspiring momentum and thanks for always sharing. Enjoy your New Year holiday!

I attended three Christmas meals this year in four days. I found I was unable to eat as much as I have at previous Christmas meals. Even so, I am glad that today I will be back to my normal eating pattern. At least I could find time to go on the treadmill most days!
Happy New Year to all!

I was good and only had cherries for dessert and then my
sister-in-law came and brought some Greek Christmas sweets.
I have only kept a couple and have given most of them to anyone
who comes to visit. I am going somewhere tomorrow and I think I
will take the others to give away too. I also feel awful when I eat
junk food or anything rich for that matter. It is a temptation knowing
it's at home. It is my 5 year Sparkversary and I am reminding myself
that I started a day after Christmas and I can do this again.
Thanks for the motivation. emoticon

I got lucky this Christmas, I ate at my sister's house and her daughter did the cooking and I didn't think anything was very tasty so I didn't have seconds! That helps the waistline a lot.

I have half a NY style cheesecake in my refrigerator. Oh my what a temptation until it's gone. Yes, I baked it myself. We did give 1/4 of it away to friends. But it looms heavy on my refrigerator shelf now, calling to me with cheesy remarks all night long. It woke me at midnight, mean thing.

I'll trade a well marbled slab of prime rib for the pudding...oh, on second thought maybe not. My head is trying to clear from all the sugar overload from the last two days. The slopes of SUGAR MOUNTAIN are slippery indeed.

I splurged on dinner last night but at little during the day. That has happened today again as we are traveling. Now I sit in our hotel room with puffy, painful feet and a very full tummy doing my sparkin' and wishing I were in bed asleep. I will be glad to get back tomorrow and into a normal routine!!

You have done very well and good to hear you are back into "healthy" eating. I will soon be as well!
