My Christmas Letter

Just sending a copy of my Christmas card letter to all my fellow Sparklers:
December 21, 2012
Dear Friends and Family,
Just sending you some love and a little news for Christmas. I know my cards won’t arrive on time since my dial only operates on two speeds “better late” and “than never” so I am just glad to be chugging along on the former today. It is kind of silly for a single person to write a Christmas letter since it is only about me and the kitties,
I never do anything important to write about and I don’t have anything to complain about—at least not that you’d want to hear—but I have been known to be silly.
I still love retirement and love the beach, even if there are only so many variables to sand and water, I still love to do my walking there and scare an occasional sand piper or crab and watch them scurry along. If not on the beach, I go to Brookgreen Gardens and get a walk in there among the trees and statues. I attended their Night of a Thousand Candles--light displays and concerts—and it was stunning.
It really is false advertising since they didn’t light 1000 candles, they lit 5500.
That, along with the Church Christmas Dinner and the choir concert--our amazing choir with musicians from the Charleston symphony—are the high points of my Christmas celebration, and this year I managed to get in all three! Happy, happy, joy, joy.
So let us give thanks for our blessing by remembering to play it forward to those in trouble and need and to always keep in the front of our minds, in spite of all the deceit, materialism, and confusion, that also enter into this holy celebration, the true reason for the season.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,
