And so the exercise streak is now a week old. It is no longer a newborn but has moved into infancy.
I squeezed in 30 minutes this morning before I started on my Christmas preparations. I was going, going, going all day long... prepping, chopping, cutting, getting myself ready for tomorrow's Christmas feast.
We lit 26 lanterns and lined them up at the end of the driveway in honor and in memory of our 26 angels that died in Newtown. We then went to 5:30 church services to celebrate the Nativity of our Lord before heading to my brother's house for Christmas Eve dinner.
While at my brother's what a wonderful surprise it was to look out the window and see that indeed we would have a white Christmas! Hurray!!! The kids and grown ups were all squealing with delight at the sight. It was a wonderful time spent with family. We were counting our many blessings and thanking God we could all be together on this blessed night.
We came home just a little while ago, and as is our tradition the kids are allowed to open up one gift which is from mom and dad. Santa is on his way right now, and according to NORAD he's making his way from S. America! Every year I get the kids Christmas pajamas which they can open on Christmas Eve and wear to bed so that when Christmas morning arrives and it's time to open gifts they are dressed in their new pajamas! This year's offering was a big hit... beautiful soft fleece which they couldn't wait to put on!
We also put out the oats on the from steps for Santa's reindeer, we put out the milk and cookies for Santa and my husband just read Twas the Night Before Christmas. My older son is out like a light, but my younger one is too excited to sleep. I will have to snuggle with him for a bit so he falls asleep and so that Santa can keep to his schedule and arrive here on time!
I hope that Christmas magic remains in their hearts forever and ever. I hope the blessings of Christmas remains within all your hearts all the year through.
