Day One - Reality Check

Well, I know Suz said we can start this on Wednesday, but why put off any longer? Most of 2012 has been me putting off, and I only have myself to blame for that.

Shortly after I wrote my first entry for 2012, life took a major turn around - I ended up in a job I love, within the field I studied. More money, more challenges--life was great and things were turning around. Unfortunately, keeping track of things on Sparkpeople, exercising with any consistancy, etc. fell by the wayside.

While I am happy about many aspects of my life, there are some areas where improvement could take place--one of course being my waist line.

In hindsight, I thing previous successes my have made me overconfident/overzealous as to what I thought I could achieve with respect to weight loss. I mean, each time I've started a diet/exercise program, I immediately drop 10-15 pounds in a week or two--how can a person not get over-confident when that occurs. So, this time, I am making better use of the tools available on Sparkpeople to lose the weight in such a manner as to not gain it back as soon as it's lost (as has happened yet again).

So, here's the goals:

1. Average weight loss goal being 3 pounds per week. My goals is to drop approximately 90 pounds by 9/6/2013 (using the calculator on SP). Doing this would put me down to approximately 275 pounds heading into Fall.
2. Develop an exercise program that I can stick with - that works with the schedule and will not leave me feeling burnt out before any real lose occurs.

Watch my intake and stay within goals/guidelines shown in nutrition section.

    We all go through these times. For me it has been depression. But like you, today has to be different. I woke up from a long nap feeling like this has to be changed, AND feeling like I can do it. The depression is part of my life, but I can still get up and do what I need to do.

    I think you were so glad to get a job that your focus was there. But I know that having financial security will make it easier to do what you need to live healthier.
