Early Christmas celebration

I won "good auntie" points today. First I went and worked out at the gym with my eldest niece, then I got the enjoyment of watching my nieces open their Christmas presents. I did good, even though I waited until last week to shop. Everyone was happy with their gifts, even the adults. We had our big meal and presents at lunch today as my eldest niece, Tigan, had to leave by 4pm. The food was incredibly good. We had roast lamb, roasted root vegetables, garlic bread, coleslaw. green beans, a green salad, spanakopita (still warm from the oven)... and for dessert we had baklava, rice pudding and cherry jello. Every year mom hides one whole almond in the rice pudding, and whoever ends up with it is responsible for distributing the presents. We generally give small presents or make charitable donations in a family member's name. Though we did pool resources this year and got my one brother a fancy power tool set. Since my dad and my brother got together and bought me my kayak this summer, I was pleased that I got anything to open this year. The most important gift I got was a RoadID (RoadID.com) I will wear it whenever I hit the road for a walk, run. or bike ride. It is kind of similar to the idea of a medicalert bracelet, just more sporty. lol! Lots of info in a small space, which would come in handy if anything ever happened to me when I am working out.
So, I got in the workout at the gym (which was incredibly crowded), walked the dog over 8 miles, danced, stretched, did a little yoga, and a few minutes of jumping jacks. Yeah, I ate too much at lunch (but it was soooo tasty!), but I adjusted the rest of my meals accordingly, and got plenty of exercise. That is a win in my book. Now let's see if I can do as well tomorrow!
