What is Christmas All About

Monday, December 24, 2012

As a committed Christian I know that Christmas is the celebration of our dear Saviors Birth. I feel it in my heart and very soul. I am troubled though by the commercialism of the season. What do I get this person as a gift, the running around for the perfect gift. Isn't that gift the gift of God's love .Showing through actions and words to others. God so often is put on the back burner doing the holidays ,in truth every day. We must strive to bring His love, peace and joy to all doing this season and throughout the New Year. God Be Forever Praise!

I am a Senior alone - my family is kind of spread out. I just will not give tons of gifts or go in dept - period! I give a gift card of $25 or cash of the same amount and that is it. I have tried to instill into my daughters minds what Christmas is suppose to be and they still go overboard with spending. When I did still have the family in later years when they were grown, I told them then - it is a beautiful dinner, lots of pastries and goodies and the remembering of our Lord's birth. I don't know if they liked it, but I stuck to it!!! Good blog...

I encourage to share in my Advent blogs of keeping Christ in Christmas...I have been blessed to look for ways to remember Jesus through the things that surround me during this season and it will continue to nurture me through the new year...I pray you are encouraged in your faith walk.. Enjoy His beauty, laughter and love from others into your life. God bless.
