All the chicken fried steak I didn't eat...

...ok, I rocked at this vacation-while-watching-my-cal
oires stuff. That has NEVER happened before.

emoticon We went to a mountain near Santa Fe (the Sipapu Ski Resort) for two days and then to Taos for two days. The plan was to try to learn to snowboard. Hubs, as usual, became more than proficient in just four days. I, as usual, took four days to get off the practice slopes. We also went with two friends who fell somewhere in the middle. More about all that later. Also - there will be pictures and probably video. I have a lot to catch you up on while I'm off from work all week (don't hate, that's university employment).

emoticon One of my big-huge-massive wins from this trip was that I did NOT eat any chicken fried steak - even though it was at almost EVERY restaurant. This, combined with other smart choices, led to my weigh-in today ...... drum-roll please.... 132.5!!! (And the crowd goes WILD!) That's a LOSS! A loss while I was on VACATION!

emoticon As promised, I tracked, in a very rough form. So here it is - my vaca food journal (note the lack of white gravy, including no sausage and biscuits). Hopefully this mindfulness and this success will sustain me as we leave home again (after being here for less than 12 hours) to go to my parent's for a week.

Tuesday:
Egg/Canadian Bacon Breakfast Burrito
Egg/Sausage Breakfast Burrito
Coffee with creamer
Sausage, beans, salad (Italian dressing), banana pudding
Paella & tapas (chilies, mushrooms, sweet peppers, artichokes, eggplant, lamb, goat cheese)
Goat cheese cheesecake
1/2 bottle red wine
1 local beer

Wednesday:
Part of Hubs's breakfast burritos (bacon, sausage, egg, green chili)
Trail mix (160 cals)
Special K bar (90 cals)
Mushroom & Swiss burger
Green chili chicken enchilada (1)
Spanish rice (0.125 cup)
3 beers (1 porter, 2 Sam Adams)

Thursday:
Breakfast burrito (bacon, egg, green chili)
PB&J crackers (250 cal worth)
White chocolate mocha syrup
Kids meal hamburger (1/4 lb)
2 shiners

Friday:
2 eggs over easy
1/2 piece white bread, 1 tsp of butter
1 big piece of awesome ham
PBcrackers x 2
Pizza (Italian sausage, pepperoni, cheese, green chilies) x 3 slices
Red wine (1/2 glass)
White wine (2 glasses)

Saturday:
Meat lovers omelette
Protein bars & crackers (350 cal worth)
Small plates (wings x 2, enchilada (2"x2" square), cheese x 3 small pieces, butter crackers x 2, bacon potato soup x 1/2 cup, pork sandwich with sauce (~3oz pork & 1.5 tbsp sauce)
1 beer
Pizza (Italian sausage, pepperoni, cheese, green chilies) x 1 slice

Sunday:
2 eggs, sunny side up
1 oz breakfast sausage
1/4 banana
8 grapes
Roast beef 5oz
hoagie bun (6in) x 3/4
au jus sauce (2oz)
salad (1.5 cup)
oil (1 tsp)
Starbucks Double Shot Vanilla (210 cal)
Almonds x 20
Sirloin (8oz)
Steamed broccoli (1.5 cups)
Corn kernels (0.75 cups)

    HUGE congratulations for losing weight on vacay! And the biscuits and gravy? Yeah, can't say no. It's my southern roots showing through!

It's cool that you learned to snowboard, I bet it was a blast!
