Not as much ice today...

Sunday, December 23, 2012

Cooper and I walked 10.4 miles today. It wasn't much warmer, but the sun came out and defrosted the sidewalks so it was safe enough to walk. I also did some yoga, a little ST, danced (frantically) for 3 songs, and did some jumping jacks. I can only do about 75 jumping jacks before my form gets all sloppy. So, I stop, do something else then do another 75, and then another 75. Now that I am adding them up I am pretty impressed. lol!!

I have plans to go to the gym in the morning with my niece. Yes, I am going to the gym on Christmas Eve morning. They are only open until 2pm, but I hope they aren't really busy in the morning. We are going to do a short workout as we are eating dinner at Noon. My one brother was making noises about boycotting Christmas this year, as he hates the commercialism of the whole thing, but last I heard he will be at dinner. Not sure if that will be a good thing or not.

I got all my presents wrapped today. But I realized that the only decorating I did this year was to put up Cooper's stocking. I have a little table top fiber optic tree, but it is still in its box in the closet. I guess I am not feeling all excited about decorating this year. I think if I lived in a house rather than an apartment I might be more excited about decorating. Maybe not.

I have been remiss in my decorating duties as well, so don't feel badly! I hav seen so amny blogs on here that say they are decorating the tree TODAY for tomorrow. Growing up, my mother had us decorating the day after THANKSGIVING! And asfor being commercialized, duh - that's just what happens.

But in light of the horrible season it has been for everyone around the world who is suffering from shootings, hurricanes, tsunamis, earthquakes, etc., we have decided to give no gifts to each other this year. We are going to eat and commune with each other and just appreciate that we have the opportunity to be together during the holidays. And that's what it should be all about anyway.

Plus, it is supposed to be 72 and raining here in northeasern Floriday tomorrow. Not much like Winter and nothing like Christmas should be. Plus, we are all so tired of having to deal with my dad's retirement and my disability that this is a welcome break from the norm.

I do hope you have a wonderful holiday, and I am so glad Cooper is a wonderful walking buddy! My dog would quit on me after a few laps - and they never make the full 2 miles anymore... they get bored and leave me and I just keep whistling to make them crazy!

    Happy holidays, darling dear!

My big tree is still in the box. We have a little one up. I opted to take care of me and spend time with people instead of decorate this year.

Hope you have a wonderful day!
