My First 10km Race

Sunday, December 23, 2012

December 23, 2012. After a long 8 weeks of training today was the day for my first virtual 10km race and out I went on the chilly, windy winter day.
It was -4c (24f)out there and my lips felt like they were going to freeze off but they didn't...lol.

It was a great experience and very hard on my body. I had to dig deep and push it to make it to the end but I did it!

Total time was 68m 20s.

When I go home my DH and little trainer has strung up a finish line with ribbon for me to run through and had a glass of water waiting. They snapped pictures and video and told me how proud they were of me :o) That was reward enough to me!

Thanks to all of your sparkles for the support and good luck on all your races! You can do it!

That is so COOL! What a great welcome home! Congrats on going out and doing the run. I'm too much of a wuss to exercise outside if it's under 40 degrees. Of course, the fact that my asthma kicks up the second I breathe in cold air doesn't help either! Congrats!

Congratulations, keep doing it. It takes a lot of courage and will power, both for the training and the actual "virtual" running you did today.
