Well, for the first time since arriving in Kazakhstan I had a good dinner.

Shrimp and fried rice. It was such a treat. I really wanted dessert which was crepes with bananas and ice cream. I started to order it and declined to have it after all. DH did have it and it looked very good. But, I was facing a 12 hour night off with no food so I chose to have a snack midway instead of the dessert. It's all about choices I guess.

When I was through with dinner I was VERY full. I was surprised at that. I guess it was eating slowly and drinking a lot of water.

We complimented the chef who said he would send "Christmas Dinner" of turkey and mashed potatoes to work with us tomorrow. (he does it on Christmas Eve which is tomorrow for us.

We gave all the waitresses cards with a tip for Christmas. I gave my favorite waitresses some Native American jewelry I bought in OK before leaving home.

I had a very pleasant day off with DH.

I know you are all very busy in the states. Try to make the best choices you can but enjoy your holiday!

Diana, hope you enjoy your Christmas dinner. We are also having turkey on Christmas Eve...tomorrow. I decided to cook turkey dinner tomorrow so I can enjoy my day with the family, instead of cooking all day. :) I'm not doing well like you are...passing up deserts. Good for you for staying on track.

You are so nice to give tips and gifts to the resturant staff. I did give a generous tip to our favorite waitress the other evening. We have been enjoying our time off. My DD enjoyed Friday night opening presents up with her boyfriend. They were so proud of what they bought for each other. :) ahh to be young again.

Oh, your GD's picture with Santa is precious!

Hope you are doing well and keeping warm.

Wishing you and your DH a "Merry Christmas"

Diana was so glad to read that you finally had a good meal. It must be tough with your limited choices. Hope the turkey dinner is good also. emoticon for passing up the dessert. I am afraid I haven't been as good the past couple of days. Folks have been bringing us treats and I have sampled! I made banana bread yesterday and sent Bill to deliver it to the folks who I knew would not like the soup. I should have made another batch today but woke up feeling like a Mack truck ran over me. I think I picked up the flu bug while Bill was in the hospital. I have had chills, fever, sore throat, cough and ached from head to toe most of the day and have had a killer headache. I have taken tylenol and the fever is down to 99.5 so think I am making progress there. I drank some warm water with apple cider vinegar in it and my sore throat is pretty much gone this evening. I took mucinex and my congestion is breaking up so I am hoping that by tomorrow I am feeling a lot better-I still have a lot to do and dinner to cook for Christmas on Tues.!
    Merry Christmas
