My spouse and other chefs of La période de Noël are in full swing cooking up all manner of entrees and treats. This edible bounty has made it's way to my table and it is very hard to portion (or partition) these items out to keep within my calorie range. Fortunately I have added the P90X to my routine to help keep my metabolism going. The caveat to the P90X is the sheer amount of pain that is involved for several days after a workout session. Motrin is not helping! Using the pain as a barometer to measure my exercise regimen tells me that 1. I am way out of shape, 2. I hit it too hard, and 3. I need to intersperse the P90X with intervals of some stretch and low impact aerobic routines. Done!
On the plus side after I am done my workout I feel awesome
A short week or so into the workouts I already find my muscles are getting harder, my stooped posture has taken on a straighter form (hence the back pain), and I don't crave a nap in the middle of the day as much, especially on the weekends. All in all I guess the saying"just press play" can be applied to more than P90X thank goodness!
Today's breakfast food was a first for me: a carrot juice/Garden of Life Perfect Food/ protein drink- interesting taste combination but it was close to room temperature so I could chug it quickly. Now- to help out the bride build that Christmas Lasagna
