Sunday, December 23, 2012

I made chilli last night for dinner so at 7 am i woke up thinking about it ! emoticon I am the one that measures out 1/2 cup to 1 cup of soup and happy with that but i made a big pot of chilli last night and i could have ate the whole pot ! emoticon I guess all those pills are doing a number on me ! emoticon This morning i warmed me up a bowl of chilli but didn't measure it . It was over a cup tho . I GOT TO GET A GRIP OR I WILL GAIN MYWEIGHT BACK! Doctor says i will anyway but i can at least do my part not to. I ate the chilli and took 8 pills and have 9 more for lunch . Not sure if the chemo pills will make me sick so i enjoyed my chilli ! emoticon My red patches are fading. emoticon I won't know me without them ! emoticon DH has a bad cold so we arent going to church. My immune system is down and several are sick in our church. God is so good to us ! We got a warm home and food on our table we have NOTHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT ! emoticon HAVE A GREAT SABBATH DAY ! emoticon emoticon emoticon

emoticon & think of you often, my precious Sister/Friend!

Not three minutes ago, I had just seen a chili recipe created back on 8.3.16 (probably the chili I talked about making in my last comment) & then I was thinking about you & decided to come read some of your blogs & there was this last posted one about it being a good chili day. emoticon

Your words continue to encourage me on several levels & I emoticon & our Abba for that fact!

    I love you, Vickie!

I made chili this past week, Vickie. I don't know that I had ever done so before. That seems strange to me, because I do enjoy the "stuff". What gave me the idea to make it was that a gal on YouTube made it & the idea to do the same would not seem to leave my mind. emoticon

You would like Ruth (the YouTube gal), as she is our sister-in-Christ. She happens to live in our city & when I feel more comfortable in doing so, I would enjoy meeting her for a visit over coffee. Her husband, who she calls "Mister", is retired Army or AF. I assume that like many military retirees, they stayed here because this was where he had been stationed last. My beloved Dad did the same & always in my mind that last town outside his last base is my hometown. It is actually not all that far from the town where I was born, when he was stationed at the military base close by. It is where I went to high school & college and, most importantly, where I met & married my cherished MrV. My treasured Dad & equally treasured older brother are buried there, so in, yet, another way a piece of my heart will always remain there.

Back to Ruth - she said she started her YouTube channel to record for her adult Grandchildren how she cooks family favorites. She added that she hopes to teach them to cook. Actually, her cooking is rather ordinary (not the type one sees on Food Network shows) - on a par with my own. I not watch her clips in the hopes of learning to cook; however, I do enjoy watching as a quick visit with her in her kitchen. Her "Mister" & she seem to be quite active in their church & on some of her episodes she signs off with Scriptural based words.

Well, I have Saturday morning ironing to get done. I did get my dusting for the day accomplished, so that is a plus.

I love you, Vickie, & I emoticon so very dearly. I think of you often & remember all the delights of having been given the great blessing of touching lives with your sweet self. I look forward to doing the same in the presence of our Abba.

Hi Vickie, just wanted you to know I was thinking of you today, keeping you in my prayers as always, thanks for your valued friendship, I so enjoy all your spark mail outs for the Team...great blog, I too love chilli, emoticon after reading this I think I will be making a big pot of chilli, I freeze a few portions for days when I don't feel like cooking, it makes an easy meal, add a salad and some toast or garlic bread and you have a healthy meal, I too measure my food.. emoticon

If you want to make that chili last longer, try dipping celery sticks in it,, you get the taste in every bite, but you get crunch and the water in the celery fills you up much faster!! Any veggie will do.. but celery has no calories,,
another way is to just barely warm it up, make a big salad and dribble that chili on he salad to make a cheaters taco salad,, you still get that taste, but it is stretched out on the big salad!!
