Have a Merry Christmas and wonderful holidays

Sunday, December 23, 2012

I want to take this time to wish my wonderful SparkFriends a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful holiday season. Take this time to enjoy getting together with family and friends. Enjoy the fellowship and joy that this season brings upon us.
I've had a wonderful Christmas so far. We opened our gifts today because my brother from NE Tennessee came in for the weekend. I am truly blessed by my son, brothers and Dad, as well as my Aunt. My best friend has spoiled me too. I hope they enjoy the gifts that I have given them. All sent with my love.
I spent three days baking and making fudge for gifts this year. Yes, I did sample them as I baked them. Tonight I tried some of the fudge as I was cutting it and wrapping it up for my goodie gifts. I think things turned out good. I hope everyone enjoys the fruits of my labors. My brother will have a load to take home because he has a box load of his treats, then my Dad & youngest brothers box and the box for my best friends Rhonda & Shawn. I had some left but I think for the most part my son's planning on taking it to work with him to share with his co-workers, which is fine with me - less temptation around the house.
Monday will be another baking day. Pecan and pumpkin pies for Christmas Day dinner. I'll also be making my Mom's hot rolls. The pies are my biggest worry because pecan is my absolute all time favorite pie in the world. I also have a jello cranberry salad to make. Otherwise I'll be done.
The 27th I'll have to make a gooey butter cake to take to my cousin's for an after Christmas get together. Then I'm done with baking until it's someone's birthday.
I'm exhausted but happy. I almost fell asleep baking cookies, so I had to go to bed about 2:30am this morning. Then I was back up baking more. My brother got in and brought lunch - bbq sandwiches - yum - nothing like the bbq here in KY. Then later my brother and I took my dog for a walk. It wore him out so he went a hotel to rest - it's a 7 hour drive from his house to mine. I finished baking and had to take a nap because I was "running on fumes". Now it's laundry time!
Tomorrow my brother will stop by to pick up all the goodies. I hope he doesn't eat all of his before he gets home.
Winter weather will probably be here starting Christmas Day evening. Snow's in the forecast for then and the weekend after. We'll see what happens. May make my walks a little challenging.
Sorry this is so long! Just wanted to ramble tonight. Love you all. Merry Christmas, happy holidays and all to you and yours.
