Looking Forward.

Saturday, December 22, 2012

The house is decorated. This shopping is done and presents are mostly wrapped and ready for the day. Baking and cooking will soon be done. Now, I am finding my thoughts are shifting to thoughts of after Christmas and the New Year. I love the holidays, but I get tired. My eating and exercise is getting disrupted. I've been mostly able to maintain through Fall to now. I'm hoping I can continue. Its really helped to join the At Goal & Maintaining and Transition to Maintenance team. The challenges have been helpful. I feel good about maintaining, even though it hasn't been perfect. But, now I want to get on with losing the next 10 pounds to my goal weight. I'm also finding my thoughts going to things I want to do after Christmas. Getting more organized is one of those things. There are other things I want to do. I do this every year. I am mostly ready for the holidays and so, I begin to think about and plan for the New Year. And even if I was still busy with preparations, thoughts of the New Year is a sort of release. The knowledge that there is a future out there and the anticipation of the future is healthy. There has been a lot of talk about the end of the world according to the Mayans. Actually according to Mayan tradition, the end of one calendar or era signals the beginning of a new one. Very appropriate that it is happening around this time of year as we are anticipating Christmas and the New Year. No matter how dark our world is at this moment, we know that a New Year is coming with hope and promise. I am embracing that hope and promise as I anticipate Christmas and the New Year.
Merry Christmas/ Happy Holidays
Happy New Year!
