Savor the Flavor!
Pack a LOT of flavor into what you eat. Psychologically, it helps you feel fuller faster.
Monosodium glutamate (Accent or kombu seaweed)
stevia and artificial sweeteners
herbs and spices
garlic -- fresh and powdered
bitters (drops from those little bottles you sometimes use in alcoholic drinks)
lemon and lime -- juices and zest
roasted root vegetable puree
vinegars and pickle juice --sometimes just a dash will make all the difference!
meat fond -- that crusty stuff on the pan/dish after you've roasted meat (I ALWAYS scrape it off and use it either the next day to flavor my cooked veggies, or I store it to add to soup later)
