2012 was not a great year for me as far as tracking and fitness. BUT, I did have other types of accomplishments that I'm happy with. This summer I became a member of RedRover, an animal response team based out of California. I can assist where animals are in need of rescuing or sheltering animals who need help from natural or man-made disasters (i.e. puppy mills, hoarders, etc.). I haven't been deployed yet, but I'm on the list in case they need help.
Starting in January, 2012, I went back to volunteering at our local animal shelter and I'm still doing it. I have done it before...for about 10 years...but needed to take a break for a while. It's a great form of exercise and it's important to find an exercise that you love doing!
I was negligent in my real workouts and it shows! But as of October, I have been faithfully getting up a little earlier in the mornings and doing my exercise videos and I'm happy about that!
My vegetable garden was very successful this year. I have a freezer full of tomato sauce, green beans and swiss chard that should last us most of the winter.
Well..I'm sure there is more, but it's Saturday and I want to do my Saturday things. I'm looking forward to the new year.
