This has been a tough week for me giving up my birds broke my heart but in the serenity prayer it says accept the things you cant change and that was a big one for me. It's a no brainer as they say because the birds bowl movement is airborn and my eyes are infected all the time anyway which opens them to eye diseases that birds carry . I thank the Lord for the strength he has given me thru all this. HE HAS BEEN GOOD TO ME ! emoticon Today i am going to check on pepper my meyer he's been biting the ones cleaning his cage at the pet store ! emoticon He is just scarred stiff. Wouldn't eat for 2 days! 8 years + we were buddies daily no one else now all these people are there . I got to get some gift cards yet and i will be done shopping . Gonna make some chilli today .Having chicken thighs cooked in the crockpot for dinner . I cook them in cream of chickensoup and cheddar cheesesoup ! emoticon Have a good day take care and give someone a good word or a smile today emoticon emoticon

I understand how scared Pepper must have felt with the strangeness of his new world, Vickie. In June of '15, our Abba opened doors for us to became first time guardians of a little Shih Tzu. A blessing that we did not believe would ever be allowed us, due to my beloved MrV's allergies to fur & feathers. Shih Tzu's have hair (thus, needing grooming to get the hair cut quite often), so we the idea of guardianship germinated & with a lot of prayer & listening carefully to our Abba's answer, she came to us as her forever guardians in her forever home. She was such a wild little thing when she first came to us. My MrV kept saying that all she needed was love & compassion and she would learn to trust us & feel safe with us. He was so right. It took about ten months before that light bulb moment for her in knowing that our home was not just a stop over for her on her way to yet another newness to get used to. She had been abandoned & abused before ending up at the Humane Society. Of course, we had no way of knowing what she had endured when out on the streets or in the fields. Poor little thing! We are so thankful to our Abba for the gift of caring for her. She has eye concerns & after dealing with several bouts of it with no real help from the Vet, we took her to an animal eye specialist. She had a surgery & now has two types of drops, twice daily. We both can see the improvement in her sight & are praising & thanking our Abba for His provision in all concerning that trial.

I'm sorry about your birds. I hope it is worth it and your eyes clear up. I know it is hard giving up pets, they are part of your family.

Sorry you had to give up your birds, but your health needs this change. I got histoplasmosis from bird droppings while picnicing near an overpass that had hundreds of nesting birds. Who knew?! Keep strong in the Lord.
