Walking in the snow

Friday, December 21, 2012

Walked the dog 10.7 miles today. Added another .5 without him, for a total of 11.2 miles. Also did squats, jumping jacks, yoga and danced around for a while. In other words, it was another active day. It felt good to get out and walk, despite the lousy weather. The dog wanted to go out for his third walk of the day, but then he didn't want to walk very far because of the wet snow, but I am mean and made him walk around the block.

I need to get back in the habit of eating a more complete breakfast again. I have just been grabbing a piece of fruit as I walk out the door to take the dog for his morning walk. That's fine and dandy, but it doesn't keep me fueled for the long walks we take. I have milk and cereal, so starting tomorrow I am going to eat a bowl of cereal and a banana for breakfast.

I had to go for blood work again today. My results have been wonky for the past three weeks. I am getting tired of getting poked though. That was twice this week, and I have to go back on Wednesday. I know it is important to monitor my clotting factors, but I wish my dr's office would get the kind that just takes a finger stick. As it is I have to go to the lab, and deal with the paperwork every time I need it checked. ugh!

I hope your blood test starts coming out better so you don't have to keep going in to do the tests.

emoticon on the wlking! My dog is too old (11) to walk 10 miles, but I try and take him for a walk every day( at least a mile.) Good thinking about adding more fuel for your body for those walks.
I'm with you about needles, I hate them! Hang in there. emoticon
