Starting new goals for the New Year. Why Wait?
Friday, December 21, 2012
I was just looking at my weight loss goals and re-evaluating. I initially gave myself until yesterday to lose the 20lbs I have put back on. Guess What? I missed that target date, but I did lose 9 lbs so almost half way back to my initial goal weight of 147.
So if I do the math, that means in 4 months I lost 9 lbs. This includes all of the Holidays. So to stay consistent and to stay within my range, I am giving myself another 4 months to lose the last 10 lbs to get back to goal. Totally do-able! That is only 2 lbs a month or so, which is typical for me. I am, after all, an all star slowest loser! If you read today's slowest loser blog, it fits the theme!
So how do I feel about that? I am pretty happy with myself for having got within 10 lbs of my initial goal weight and I am hopeful that with my continued efforts I will be seeing my goal weight again by Spring!
I typically gain during this time of year. I am ecstatic that I am able to lose and maintain that loss. the holidays are not quite over but I find that my mind set has really changed.
This year, I am ONLY eating those treats that I really must have, and not mindless eat all the treats that are available at this time of year. It has taken me almost 4 years to realize this. Wow, even after that long on maintenance I am still learning things!
My Christmas wish for all of you is to have a very healthy and happy Holiday Season!
