I had the best of intentions this morning when I decided to stop at the supermarket salad bar and get fruit for breakfast. I got a few pieces of pineapple, five strawberries and five blackberries. Just as I was closing my container I looked at the end of the salad bar and they have dried banana chips, trail mix and nuts. I see the cashews and I think that would really be a good source of fat and protein to balance out my breakfast. I know they are calorie loaded so I only get 1/4 cup. I get to work and begin writing my loot into my food journal ( I also had a small banana). I go to to get the nutritional info on the cashews and nearly fall out of my chair when I see that the 1/4c or basically 2 Tb of nuts I ate was 197 calories! I don't think there is any possible way it could have been that many calories. I got sooo little. It amazes me that I could have had 24 almonds for less than that. I am staying away from them here on out.

I am a bit frustrated with my tummy. In the last 7-10 pounds I have lost, I haven't lost barely anything in my tummy. I keep measuring and it is staying the same. I do a lot of cardio (Zumba, HIIT training) and I thought cardio and aerobic exercise is what burned belly fat. I have read in multiple places that you don't trim the tummy with situps and crunches when you still have a lot of visceral fat over the ab muscles-its pointless. But how do I get rid of that fat??? My neck, collarbone and shoulders are getting all shredded and toned up and then I just have this mound of belly and trim legs.

    The answer to your question is a tough one but you just have to continue your cardio. Unfortunately fat just comes off in no specific area in no specific way. I know...depressing. My problem areas is in order....thighs, belly, butt.

    Well, while crunches won't deplete the fat, it will build the muscles there and thus generally slim down the area by tightening everything.

    Always do ST. I heart ST 4eva.

    Tommy and hips are just annoying me, but the best way to handle them is a combo of Cardio and ST. I hear sprinting does a number on belly fat, and try adding grapefruit to your diet.

    Ohhhhhhhhhhhh don't even get me started!!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE is so easy to sit down and much on a few handfuls, then you realize you've just eaten like 800 calories!! :-P

    As for the belly thing, I swear it is the very last thing to upper body is looking awesome, and so are my legs, but my stomach just REFUSES to go anywhere. ARGH!!!!! I'm right there with you!

    I've been there too, regarding the nuts. Someone always gets my husband a can of cashews for Christmas and I end up eating most of them. I would say cashews are definitely one of my binge foods. I can't have even one.

    Cashews have an interesting factoid - they are never found in the shell. Think about it...every other nut can be served in the shell. Turns out that they nut shell has a caustic chemical in it. Wow talk about what you love can kill you.....

    OH yes.....I second that!!! I just enjoyed a few too many cashews on my drive around town doing errands today....they are actually my favorite nut...over the past 20 months I have enjoyed them with some pretty good moderation but had I went to ONE MORE place this afternoon I would have had to call for backup to free me from the handful I WOULD have been eating!! look amazing, I so thrilled you are still going strong...don't get discouraged by the selective weight comes off where it comes off, you're young so it will get around to the mid section soon enough:) thx for commenting on my Pharma blog...I'm still cracking up over that whole deal!!     I KNOW what you mean about those darn nuts! Good for you but DARN those calories.

    I also know your pain about the tummy area! I feel like it hasn't gone down since I lost my initial 10lbs. It just sits there and tauts me and NOT in a good way! It will eventually leaves us and we will be two happy ladies! emoticon NOW tummy begone!

    You can't target where you burn fat... cardio burns fat, but your body picks where the fat comes off; it doesn't specifically burn belly fat. More of mine has come off from other parts of my body... NOT the stomach and thighs, unfortunately!

    I love nuts and yes, they have lots of calories. I consider them a "treat" so only have them occasionally. (I love all nuts!!!)

    As for your tummy, I wish I could help you there! I found a good way to strengthen you abs is to suck them in as hard as you can, your glutes, too) at every red light. Hold it all in until it turns green and then release. You'd be surprised how often you sit at a red light! I don't know if this will help, but it did seem to help me lose my tummy after all my kids. I guess it may be worth a try!!
