2012 National Gingerbread Competition

Aside from my camera acting up, I had a great time with the family last night minus the Christmas Lights at Lake Julian. It was raining way too hard to see them so we'll try again this weekend. Nevertheless the grandson enjoyed his visit with Santa. Although when he first saw him arrive he exclaimed rather nonchalantly, "I'm not impressed! His stomach isn't quite big enough."
Thankfully everyone got along and it turned out to be a nice evening. The Gingerbread displays at the Grove Park Inn were amazing as usual. Everything except the base has to be edible. The grandson and I think we might like to try our hand at it next year. They offer Beginner Preparation Classes for all age groups over the summer which he and I certainly would need. Anyway here is just a sample of what we saw. I apologise for the quality and red eye. My camera was not behaving itself. I should have asked Santa this year for a new one.
