I had to go out of town for work for the past several day.
The biggest problem with this has been that every meal was a restaurant meal. I tried to make good choices but in some places (since I had no say as to where we went) it was difficult. Plus I had a beer with dinner more often than not, since my boss and I both love us some beer.
Sunday night I was planning on cheating, as we were going to an awesome rib and BBQ joint, but that ended up actually being one of my lower calorie days since we skipped lunch during our flight and travel time.
The rest of the week was pretty bad. Between the free hotel breakfast buffet, fancy grill/alehouse places for lunch, and people from our sister company taking us to nice places for dinner, I just could quite come up with the will power to constantly choose the right things, and even when I *thought* I did, I'd track them later to discover they were still bad choices.
Long story short, I'm about 7 pounds higher than I was when I left. I expect some of this to be water weight, as from tracking yesterdays food it looks like I ended up with 4 days worth of sodium, so we'll see how it plays out in the long run. Regardless, I'm home now, so I can head back the the gym on schedule from now on and make better food choices.
In some ways I don't really regret it, because I ate things there I'll probably not have an opportunity to have again due to either the food just not being available here or being out of my normal price range (Kobe Beef Cheeseburger, anyone?).
