My Happy Holiday Blues

Thursday, December 20, 2012

Well, here I go again, all my Sparking friends!! Telling you all my woes, but this time I feel that I have more of a handle on my temptations, but not entirely, so that's why I'm calling out to my buddies and letting them know that I will do my best with my SP knowledge but I also know that I will indulge in some of those yummy once-a-year treats because otherwise I will binge and binge! I have already had those binging times and I can feel my clothes being a little more snug and I don't like that and also the scale has been up some pounds and I don't like that either, not one little bit (my favorite Cat in the Hat!!). I know that I'm human but I also know that I will come through these holidays with eating more healthy than I ever have. But come 1/2/13, I will get back tracking like no tomorrow!

Happy Holidays to you all!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I understand and agree with you. I've done that, although Christmas was one of the healthier days food wise in a long time. Now to just keep it rolling into the New Year! Good luck and have fun!

    hi Karen
you're right. a little bit of leeway is necessary and should be anticipated. Although, I have one question. :Where ARE all of these goodies I keep hearing about.? They are not in my house! I haven't been able to bake them and havne't bought any ....Haven't been invited to any dinners or parties to have them there either. Shucks! I would really LOVE to have some goodies right about now!

Have some for me, Sugar!
Love ya,
Cyn

Right there with you! I think no one can escape the amazing abundance of treats and feasts at this time of the year. We can only hope the gain is not significant as its such a struggle to get them off again.
We will survive!

May as well work the goodies into the food plan! That way I enjoy guilt free.

It is great that you can just accept you aren't perfect - like the rest of us - and look at this from the point of view of what can you realistically promise yourself you will accomplish. That, to me, seems to be the real trick of all this - Making promises to do things and then following through on those promises. Success comes more quickly and more easily if you work, at least initially, with promises you know you can and will keep.. GOOD FOR YOU!

I intend to enjoy myself too without going crazy. I will use portion control.

So you are taking some time off, huh? Just a few days... you probably can't do much damage in that little bit of time. Plus, you will soon be skipping all over the place in the holiday spirit so you will be burning calories like crazy.

Hang in there - we are all having it rough this year with goodies and temptations. I have not indulged yet, but I ceratinly want to, so I am baking a cake today as a surprise for my family this evening!

Hugs to you, my dear. And hang in there.
Angela

You have a great attitude towards this! I am glad you understand how you work! This is very important. Keep pushing when you are ready & you will continue to do great! If you stay down in the dumps, it is harder and harder to get back up! Keep up the great work & enjoy those treats!
