Writing Out Christmas Cards ...

Thursday, December 20, 2012

is a much more difficult task when one is sleepless. I have been struggling with getting these out since yesterday. I hope to finish them up today however I have had another sleepless night so I am not sure if this is a goal bent on failure. At this point I will just hope that I have everyones name right, have spelled things correctly and all the cards are in their proper envelopes as I am just too tired to recheck them. Given the date I will most likely have to pay extra postage too in order to get them to their destinations on time.

The agenda for today includes: a visit to see Santa with the grandson, a nice drive through of the lake area to see their Christmas Light display and checking out the Annual Gingerbread exhibit at the Grove Park (LOTS of walking). Since the daughter is still sick, and now grumpy as all get out, DH and I will travel in separate cars to lower our chances of catching her virus in time for Christmas. Although from what we both have heard and witnessed there seems to be A LOT of people out and about these days who are not feeling well. emoticon

I took some pictures yesterday of our holiday decorations but am waiting to take some of today's festivities as well before posting. Hoping to have some of them up by this weekend.

In the meantime I am praying for a speedy resolution to my current sleep issue as well as looking forward to a nap at some point today. Funny, I never have problems with naps but at night I can't get my brain to shut up long enough to sleep pass 1-2 hours if that. emoticon So wishing it was the other way around!

Not being able to get a good night's sleep really sucks (excuse my language, but it is true).
Hope you're having better luck with the shut-eye now!!
And BTW, half my x-mas cards went out before x-mas, and the rest will trickle out 'til I'm done... hopefully sometime in the next few days!!!! emoticon

I LOVE sending Christmas cards, but have realized that people are going to enjoy them even if they arrive the day before or a week after Christmas, so my stress level is lowered and I actually take the time to write a note, for some it's a letter, in each and every card I write! It's something I look forward to each and every year... so it's good to hear that others are doing so as well!

Enjoy all the events you have planned for today!

I just read a little more closely and am now totally envious! I LOVE the amazing Gingerbread show at Grove Park. Wish I were close enough to drive there.

It made a huge difference to me when I stopped putting the Christmas card pressure on myself. The world will not come to an end if my cards aren't on time.

I send out my normal family cards and then I respond to each new one that comes to my house
