Thank You...and update!

Wednesday, December 19, 2012

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers for my son! He came through surgery just fine, however he is in such pain he can barely stand it. The pain killers do not work for him at all. I sure wish I could take his pain away. Nurses and docs were in to see him about every 20 min. today. He has had no sleep whatsoever.

I have to give him a lot of credit. He did get out of bed and into a chair this afternoon and later went for a short walk. Tonight before getting in bed, he wants to do another walk. He just grits his teeth and does it. He knows he has to get moving before they will allow him to go home.

On top of everything else, he has been complaining about his L ear hurting. No doc had looked at it, so you bet I put things in motion! He has a horrible ear infection. Doc asked him what meds he wanted. I must say he does have a perk in being in the medical field. He can discuss his condition with docs and nurses and get specific details that I don't begin to understand!

Please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers. He has a long road ahead, but I know each day will bring improvement. Thanks!

Sounds like he could have benefited from a morphine pump. Some people need more pain meds than other. He certainly did not need an ear infection on top of surgery. I hope he has a speedy recovery. I am sending prayers.

Prayers still coming. Hoping his pain is lessened. I have NO luck with dilauded or morphone or demerol..but what DOES work is Percodan (NOT percocet) and hydrocodone. it took a long time before they could find something that worked for all the surgeries i have had for my knee.
Hoping he is recovering well. sometimes being in the field you know too much...not easy. I am sending all good prayers and positive thoughts!!

I'm so glad Dane's surgery is over, although I'm sad no pain med works for him. I don't know how he can stand it. Happy to hear he was up and wants to talk a walk before bed. And, now an ear infection. Gad.

He gets his fortitude from you and I'm sure he will get through his recovery with flying colors.

I'm praying his pain will start to lessen soon.

Yeah, Dane! emoticon emoticon

I'm glad to hear the surgery was successful. Will continue to pray for his recovery. That is really hard about the pain meds not working.
